What is a first night bag? 

A first night bag is a backpack that is gender and age appropriate that contains necessary items a child would need including: diapers, wipes, formula, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, a comb, and a stuffed animal. The purpose of these bags are to show kids coming into foster care they are valuable, and worth being treated with love and dignity.

Who can receive a first night bag? 

Any child coming into foster care and are placed in Pike or Lincoln County or moving to a new foster home in Pike or Lincoln County can receive a first night bag.  

 

What else does Divine Nest do? 

Divine Nest offers regular support groups, foster and adoption training, events, advocacy, and provides emergency items to help siblings stay together or be placed with family or relative who otherwise wouldn't be able to care for the children.
 

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes your donation is tax-deductible. Divine Nest is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

If you're interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent or adoptive parent please contact us so we can share more information with you. If you can't be a foster or adoptive parent, there are other ways you can support those who are able.
