A first night bag is a backpack that is gender and age appropriate that contains necessary items a child would need including: diapers, wipes, formula, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, a comb, and a stuffed animal. The purpose of these bags are to show kids coming into foster care they are valuable, and are worth being treated with love and dignity.

 

If a child is placed in Pike or Lincoln County or are moving to a new foster home in Pike or Lincoln County, thy can receive a first night bag. All children who come to the Sparrow House will receive a First Night Bag before going to their foster placement.
