We are hosting a Topgolf tournament fundraiser to raise funds for our programs.
This fundraiser event is Monday, May 6 from 11 am to 2 pm. Don't worry, the bays are heated if it's a chilly day! Golfers will play in tournament style games against the other bays. Each golfer will also be provided lunch with an all you can eat buffet and non-alcoholic drinks. Golfers that are participating in event sponsorship bays, will also receive gift bags. There will be several other opportunities for golfers to win money and support our programs with a hole-in-one shot and a 50/50 raffle.
This event is helping support our three main programs. Our first program includes recruitment of new foster and adoptive families. We are intentional about partnering with different agencies and faith-based groups to help recruit new families. We also help screen interested families by answering their questions and providing a realistic perspective of foster care and adoption. We also have awareness campaigns on social media, so that individuals can know the need for more families. Our second program includes training. We help facilitate training throughout the year for new foster families, families pursuing adoption, and also trauma training for families caring for foster and adopted kids. Training is very important for families so that they feel they have the knowledge and skills to best care for the kids placed into their home. Our third program is family support. We support kids impacted by foster care through our Sparrow House program, First Night Bags, emergency items, support groups, and events. We also help advocate for families.
Profits from this event will be directly used to support kids who stay at Sparrow House while awaiting foster placement, purchase items used for our First Night Bags, emergency items like car seats, cribs, beds, mattresses, clothes, formula, diapers and wipes, etc. The profits will also be used to help provide meals and childcare for families that attend our support groups, as well as provide events for kids and families at no cost to them.
What can you do to help?
We would love for you to get involved and help us fill the bays. That could be by passing this information to a business owner you know who might like to be a sponsor, or maybe you're a business owner and you would like to be a sponsor. As an individual you can sign up to participate and bring a few of your friends to fill a bay. Another thing you can do to help is share the information about this event or share our social media posts to help bring awareness so that others can know what we’re doing.
